Anna Varnayeva

Associate Marriage & Family Therapist

Are you struggling with stress, anxiety, depression or feeling like you are just going through the motions? Therapy can help. Perhaps you are feeling stuck or overwhelmed? Perhaps you feel like no one really understands and wish you had someone to talk to? Whatever you’re going through, you don’t have to go through it alone. Although no one can walk your path for you, that doesn’t mean you have to walk it alone. People are wired for connection. We all need someone to really see us, someone to understand. Sometimes we don’t have someone in our lives we can trust and confide in, or we don’t want to burden them with our problems. Therapy is a safe space for you to talk about anything you wish – without fear of judgment.

I believe that we all have strengths and resources within us that can be the key to leading a better life. Sometimes the current challenges in our lives can make it difficult for us to recognize and connect with these. This is where therapy can help. I bring in a strengths-based approach, which helps you connect with your strengths and resilience. My approach to therapy will be tailored to you. I can help you get unstuck, better understand your experience, learn coping skills, manage overwhelming emotions, communicate more effectively, and live a fulfilling life.

Therapy is a space for you to explore, express emotions, and be heard. Together we can explore what is getting in the way, and help you move past the painful experiences holding you back. Sometimes there are obstacles such as unresolved issues from the past, self-limiting beliefs, and negative relationship patterns that are holding you back, and this, and more can be addressed in therapy. The difficulties you have faced will still be there, but they don’t have to define you or dictate how you live your life. You are more than the challenges you’re facing.

FOR TEENS: There are so many challenges during the teenage years. Therapy can help you better understand what's going on. We will work together to help you clarify your thoughts and feelings and explore how you fit in with your friends and family. Sometimes it can be hard to know how to talk about your experiences. As we work together to come up with the right words, we’ll incorporate experiential exercises, images, and expressive arts.
