Feeling stuck and unsure how to move forward with something that’s important to you? It can be as simple, and as difficult, as figuring out why it’s so hard to get out of bed some mornings, and how to do so anyway. Or maybe you feel trapped in a story about a situation, a job, a partner, a family member or yourself that blocks you from seeing other options and opportunities.
I aim to provide a place for you to explore and come to grips with the concept of “and.” As in, I can feel sad…and get out of bed in the morning. I can feel low…and get my work done. I can feel angry…and conduct myself in a way that doesn’t make things worse.
I became a therapist because learning the concept of “and” helped me move and grow beyond what I believed to be inarguable truths about the world and myself. Something can be true and…I can live, thrive, and succeed anyway. That’s what I hope to help people discover, especially anyone who struggles with feelings of hopelessness or black-and-white thinking.
That isn’t easy. Moving forward rarely is, especially when you’re not feeling good about yourself or what’s happening in your environment. Exploring “and” can help you understand where you’re stuck, and find a way forward anyway. Together, we’ll build practical skills and develop the strength within you to use those skills consistently, so you can write the story of the life you want to lead, one step at a time.
You can expect a warm, non-judgmental space where we look clearly and honestly at what’s causing you pain, and address it together. You don’t need to have it all figured out to begin. When you're ready to take that first step toward change, reach out to schedule a session with me.
