Life in this day and age can be tough, but I like to believe that everyone has it in them to thrive, regardless of how the world may make you feel it is against you. I'd also like think that you more than likely have what it takes to get there, maybe you just need a little push.
Depression, anxiety, grief, all of these issues are a part of living, and we all deal with it in our own ways (oftentimes, by not dealing with it at all!). As a counselor I believe in helping coming to understand you, not just through language (as someone who is fluent in both English and Tagalog) but learning about the things that you love and are passionate about. I am a big believer in that your favorite games, sports, books, anime, art, and every niche hyperfixation in-between may be a valuable part of what moves and inspires you!
As a Filipino-American who spent years growing up both in America and the Philippines, I am aware of the struggles that come with both. Navigating a culture which feels fundamentally opposed to what you’re taught; it can be awfully disorienting to feel truly yourself.
But if you’re seeking a helping hand, to heal from hurts of the past, or to simply work towards becoming a better you, I will be here to assist you on your journey. It may not be easy after all that's happened in the past, but there's no better time to change than the present!
